Welcome to McMaster Recreation Virtual Learning! This year our operations will be slightly different but we still want to feature instructional programs, interviews, chats, and webinar content to assist in your health and wellness journeys.

MOOSE 2020: Panel 1, Sustainability in Outdoor Adventures

A discussion about the impact of humans on the environment while exploring remote places, and how to minimize out disturbance of natural areas. This event aims to help raise awareness of the burden human travel has on the environment and teach ways in which we can minimize this effect.

An open conversation about mental health and its implications when traveling in remote settings. The iNaturalist program at McMaster is a fun way to explore your own backyard while staying connected to your McMaster community!

Go out and record the species around you. This collection project is open to all McMaster University staff, students, faculty, and alumni.

 

Drew Korzeniowski, McMaster pedorthist and owner of DK Orthotic Solutions, talks about common running injuries, why they happen, and what you can do to help avoid them. Drew has been making orthotics for the past 15 years, and founded DK Orthotic Solutions in 2009 to help his clients find their peak performance ability.

Through a combination of orthotic design, as well as strength training and treatment plans, Drew sets his clients up to promote maximal muscle efficiency, no matter their sport.

Although public swimming areas are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water.

McMaster Recreation’s Wayne Terryberry and Debbie Marinoff Shupe offer several water safety tips and guidelines to keep you and your loved ones safe this summer.
