McMaster Outdoor Club – Winter Speaker Series – From McMaster to the Arctic

Maya March (’06), spent 8 incredible years leading trips with the McMaster Outdoor Club, and ALTITUDE. Some of her favorite trips included the Grand Canyon, Canadian Rockies, backpacking on Baffin Island, caving in Kentucky. During her years at McMaster, Maya spent her summers in the Canadian Sub-Arctic, guiding wilderness expeditions for Canadian River Expeditions (white water rafting, canoeing, hiking) on rivers in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Labrador. Since 2004 she has worked at Parks Canada, spending 5 years as the Park Manager for Tuktut Nogait National Park in the Western Arctic, and is currently on the Visitor Experience Team in Georgian Bay Islands National Park.
